Built in 1872 by Colonel Benjamin H. Epperson, lawyer, political leader, entrepreneur, and confidante of Sam Houston, the home is a three-story example of the architectural transitional period between Greek Revival and Victorian styles.
The home takes its name from the stained glass in the cupola where each color depicts a season. This beautiful home is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is recorded in the Historic American Building Survey in the Library of Congress. The Calvert K. Collins Foundation own the house. The House of Season is located at 407 S. Alley Street, Jefferson, Texas.
